That's a serious plot when it can be round baled! It’s just a 2 acre clover/alfalfa field. Local farmers hays it. No charge.

You just have them hay it, and then rock on with what comes back, or do you try any overseeding into it as well?

We will do some overseeding on occasion.

You have quite a bit of clover coming back already, that looks nice. Do you sell the bales or does he keep them?

He bales up our farm site too. I think he got 15 bales total. 15 bales at $30 / bale = $450. (or more). Fair deal? Edit: Price for hay can vary so much. Could be $15 or could be $100.....depending on year and circumstances.

If he gets that next year, I might ask him to put in another plot for me, at no charge, more alfalfa. Maybe a little better deal for him, than I, but keeps it nice.

Alfalfa bales are much higher in value, and in demand.

Alfalfa bales are much higher in value, and in demand. If he is baling and removing nutrients, is he also fertilizing it? If so sounds win win.

So he puts in on thick. Just on the plot area, he takes the basic grass hay and I don't expect fertilizer there... which is not important to me anyway.
