Do to some unseen circumstances and rain in forecast today I have not got my brassicas planted yet. Is August 9th to late to put them in. We typically get our 1st frost around September 15th. If it is to late I would plant a wheat, oats, rye and winter peas mix. Is Aug. 9th to early for this mix. Haven't planted this mix in such a long time that I can't remember when I planted.

If you did Brassica, maybe just roll with Radish and Rape? Earlier maturity date I do believe. I have always wanted to try peas/oats. Seems like a good early season combo.

If I could pick an ideal date for planting oats, it'd be 7 weeks before first frost. I've bounced around either side of that and gotten good tonnage out of the oats.
