Or are you like me, trying to bite off as much as possible before the season and end up in the woods longer than you wanted to be? Each year seems to be a scramble to get stands moved, secured, lanes properly opened, access minded, plots, etc etc.
This year is as close as I've ever been, but I still feel like I'm gonna miss my labor day deadline to be done and stay out of the woods.

I’m probably as ready as I’ve been. I’ve worked quite a bit the last two months every weekend. Hopefully next year is much less work.

I think I'm gonna make it, but I've got company that weekend too. Gonna have to force in some hunt chores for a couple hours to push this bird over the line. Weather is looking fantastic for fishing. I think we're gonna hit a perch/smallmouth lake nearby and try to drum up a fish fry and some pond stock.

I'm twiddling my thumbs in wait. I'm anal about planning and being prepared. The stand sites are ready and resting (have been for a long time). I'm on doves and bass. If we get rain I'll get to catch some flatheads. Anything to keep me out of the woods until it's right.

I have two short access trails to check. I will do it on some cool windy day. There is poison ivy on both trails so I have put it off. One of those trails is 80% done except the last thirty yards.
I won’t be hunting until about October 20 or so. I try to stay out of the woods after Aug 1. Stands and projects need to be done by then.
Access trails need a quick check before rifle season, especially if there has been a big wind.

Not yet, I’ll be checking a few stands and access trails this weekend. Most of my stands are not to intrusive and are easy to access. I have a couple stands that are closer to my sanctuary but they need to be checked.

The work in the woods is never done in time and it will just be that way. Some stands dont get brushed out. That new spot i wanted to put a stand in doesnt get one. Etc.
My biggest concern and worry is shooting my bow enough. Not going to shoot when it is 90 and humid. Heading south to work this weekend and wont shoot. Gives me anout twelve days to get all dialed in if i hunt WI opener.

Stands have all been in place and ready since early June. I like to have them done before the heat hits every year. I hate doing hard work like that in the heat and bugs and I really want to stay out of the woods past 4th of july. I make this a priority.

I do the have to ones first then see how many of the wish list I can get done. Either way I think it helps me not working in the woods past 4th of july while my neighbors are working in the woods.

We just got back from a death march in 93-94 degree heat. Brutal but we got 95% of what we wanted to do done. Undone: a couple of scrape posts, shooting lanes in a couple spots, setting up a new stand in a spot I'm super excited about, and cleaning up the garage and shed. Never quite enough time.

I’m never finished but I’m done enough. Only need to set a couple pop up blinds and tighten the ladder stands. I might move a stand or two. I’m usually finished by Labor Day.

We’re supposedly putting up our newest hut this weekend but, hurricane Laura is supposed to dump an inch of rain on Saturday. If I spread some seed out Friday night that should prevent the rain from happening. It’s done the trick since July. Every time I spread seed the forecasted rain never comes.
As far as being ready our stands stay up year round except for the state forest stands. We have two setup there. Otherwise I’ll be out September 1 to shoot a bear.
