I asked my neighbor/ renter if he was going to cut the rest of the alfalfa. He said, “Nope, left it for the deer!” I am standing near the inside corner of my 70 acre field.

Wow. How late into the winter will they eat alfalfa? I would say 12-16 inches of snow or less snow with a hard crust ends it. One of my new stands is about at the edge of the picture to the left. The other stand is about 75 yards to my right.

You have a nice looking field. Hopefully that feeds the local herd this winter.

You have a nice looking field. Hopefully that feeds the local herd this winter. There won’t be many apples this winter. I do have about 2.5 acres of decent corn and another 1 acre of poor corn.
