The wife has a shitload of Concorde grapes. Not much for eatting & were not real big wine drinkers. So yesterday I made some grape juice concentrate. Mix about 4/1 with water and add .5 teaspoon of sugar to a glass full. I haven't drank grape juice since I was a kid. Not all that bad.

Yesterday ws round 2 for making grape juice. Needless to say it was a busy day. Started by picking the rest of the grapes. Ended up with 17 lbs. First step was to get them off the stems. Then it was time to mash them down. Then cooking began. Strain pulp. Final strain through cheesecloth. Ready for freezer 75 oz pure grape concentrate. I'll mix with water about 4 or 5:1 and add just a touch of sugar per glass.

WOW, never heard of one, post a picture if you get it. Here's the one I've got a bid on. Looks just like my moms. She made the best apple butter, you could eat a jar by yourself and I would have if she didn't get after me.

I strained my cider from old press with that. I still use it on the new system, but not really needed.

Thanks for the tip but for the amount I do I'll stick to the manual way. Sure does look slick and easy though.

Actually I've got a bid in on a Vintage Metal Sieve Strainer Chinois Wood Pestle Masher. WOW, never heard of one, post a picture if you get it. I won my bid and it arrived today from New York. It's seen lot's of use but it's in great shape. This is an old one. Cost me a whopping $16.00 including shipping. I'll need to make a stand for it but that's minor. Too bad it won't get much use this year anymore.

Made myself a stand for my strainer today. Had just enough SS material on hand.
