Sitting in blind with my wife to see if we can fill a doe tag. Good luck! Rifle, bow, or muzzy?

Not in the stand (behind round bales) yet but plan to do a bow sit Monday late afternoon. Try to fill a doe tag. My luck a big buck will show.

Well 3 deer came out with a couple minutes before closing time. The deer were as far away as possible in the food plot about 145 yards. My wife didn't feel comfortable shooting that far so she said I should shoot. Note I looked all 3 over with binocs and scope. Picked out the biggest of 3 and shot. Deer dropped in it's track. Pack up and make the walk over, look at it, it has an inch of broken off antler on 1 side and the other side is busted off right at skull. Feel kinda bad but there would have been no way to see unless he was right under me. Thinking it was a pencil thin spike that I saw in October. Nothing I can do now, its dead.

Had an eventful night on the ground this evening. Decided to burrow up on the edge of a picked corn field in some prickly ash. Last Sunday, 2 does and 4 fawns walked near this spot.
With about 20 minutes before legal time was up, stuff started moving. A doe and two fawns decided to come from across the field to within 40 and fed off. Then I spotted a really nice 8 or 10 pt about 80 yards away. He stuck on the edge of the woods and kept heading into the wind along the field. Two more fawns and a doe came into the field behind him. Deer started blowing to the east, deer started running in the field. A small buck started grunting and clearing the field behind me. Then a doe decided to come by at about 8 yards, just too late.
Hoping to let an arrow fly in the next couple of weeks!

Congrats on the deer (and a hunt with the wife). At over 100yds an inch of antler can be pretty hard to see.

I took my 6 year old son out tonight and we saw 12 does/fawns, but no bucks. He told me I should just shoot a doe about 30 times, but I told him we are hoping for a big old buck. All the deer walked by within 50 yards, so they did just what we wanted. Most were feeding in soybeans, but a few were in the brassicas.

I only saw 4 tonight. Doe and two fawns worked down wind of me and trotted off and Saw one over 100 yards away on the neighbors. Thought they would move a bit more with the fresh snow.

Did not see a deer in the last 2.5 days of muzzy season. Sometimes, it's not so easy that caveman can do it.
