Remind me what it means when my Tactacam hasn't "checked in" in 4 days. Also haven't got a picture in 4 days. Anything I can do remotely to correct?

Most likely means the batteries died or the camera itself was turned off. At least that's what it always meant for me.

In the past I've gone out and turned off, switched out SD card and reformatted and it's corrected itself. I'd rather not make a trip out there right now.

It's in the camera settings.

Also the cell carrier may be updating tower. Critter could have damaged antenna. Probably going to physically check on camera.

My tactacam froze up like that for the first time this spring after being out for 9 months. I don't think it was reading the battery life correctly for some reason since it worked great once I changed the batteries and started it back up again.

Yeah, battery life readings on trail cams can be pretty unreliable. Near worthless with lithiums that seem to show a hint of less than 100% and then are dead.

The battery symbol on bottom of picture is a better indicator of battery. The percentage that is shown on app is when the camera checked in. Also Tactacams need a minimum percentage of 7 volts to operate properly. The batteries inside camera are hooked in parallel which gives you between 9 and 9.5 volts when batteries are new. So in Daydreamer's case if batteries are at 40 % the camera is trying to operate at 3.6 volts.

Interesting sequence on one of my Tactacams last night. Three deer were running down a cut and not less than 30 seconds comes a coyote following.

I'm surprised at how little this one is, and how he survived the winter. Have seen him with other deer and he sure is small.

Turkeys aren't unusual pictures, but up north here, 75 miles from the Canadian border they are....

Count your blessings. Two are enough.
