Looking at weather forecast for tomorrow and it has rain predicted for most of the afternoon. How many of you would bow hunt in the rain and risk the chance of losing deer if blood trail got washed away?

My first bow kill was in a down poor. This was back when dad and I had 1 stand between us and I was hunting on the ground. Had about a 6 yard shot on a fawn that I hit both femoral arteries thru the rear legs. Ray Charles could have followed the blood trail so no problems. Ray Charles probably could have made a better shot.
I don’t like it but i will do it. This Sunday looks like a good chance. I will be picky with my shots and follow immediately unless I know I hit gut.

Absolutely. If I had a pimp ass ground blind built from sticks and landscaping fabric to keep me dry, I'd be out there.

I’d only take a slam dunk shot. And we all know those don’t really exist. It’s 2020 after all.

I'll hunt, but also only take a slam dunk shot. For me that's a 20 yard or less shot

If it is misty conditions I'll hunt. If its raining. Like raining raining I usually don't and just save it for another day. If it is raining and a deer I want to shoot is in front of me I would take a much different skill shot than dry conditions.

I've bow hunted in the rain. Tracking sucks, just make sure it a good shot. I'm color blind to some extent so tracking is tough for me either way. If I can't track I grid search. I'll find it but sometimes it takes longer.

It has to be a slam dunk easy shot vs taking a 35 yarder when you stopped them and they are alert and ready to drop on you.

This kind of brings up another question; how often do your bow shot deer end up lost? I almost always see or hear the deer I shoot go down. Every once in a while I make a bad shot and end up tracking an animal a long ways or even loose one, but those deer don't leave enough of a blood trail to matter if it's raining or not. If they did leave a good enough blood trail they wouldn't have gone far. Makes it a moot point to me.
