'Ya know.....looking at the back side of those grapples......I had something similar. And I welded a couple of 1/8" x 1" strap irons on the back side of the bucket. Does not impede vision much...but keeps limbs and debris from coming through and into my tractor's grill and headlights...etc. I had to learn this the hard way on my first tractor. Spend some time preventing radiator and grille damage....it gets expensive fast. Just sayin'.

Got home with my grapple and pallet forks. Unfortunately I won't be able to post pics of the stuff in action like Brad for a bit.

On 3pt spreaders. Do you have to manually open the gate and then walk around ? Doesn’t some media fall through when you open the gate but before you start spinning it ? Also what if you want to make an adjustment in the fly ?
Sounds like it would kinda suck

I pull up on the handle to open two little gates that allow the fertilizer to flow onto a spinning plate that slings the material in a scattered pattern across a wide swath. I can vari the PTO speed to sling it father or in a narrow band......depending on my needs. I think they all work this way.

Yep, I open my back window (mine tilts open ....hinging at the top) and I can reach the lever that operates the gates. Easy / peasy.

I don’t want it to be like blb was talking about. I’ll stick with the pull behind one for the wheeler then. If I could reach mine I would do a 3 pt

I put a piece of plastic tube on mine to extend the handle a bit. Makes it easier to reach. from the seat I also put a bungee cord on my handle to keep it from working open until I get to the field.
