Being able to cut wood without binding up is a big benefit. I never thought of that with a grapple. Do you have a log splitter too or did you split that by hand? Yep. My buddy was at one end and I was at the other. We would meet at the middle and have a large one done in minutes. I have a log splitter. One thing I never did in college...

Just ordered this brush guard like this for my Kubota tractor. Looks super heavy duty. It was a little pricey but it will be powder coated and ready to bolt on when it arrives. I don't have a welder and by the time I paid a fab shop to do it, the price probably would be close to this one.

^. I'm curious how much they nicked you for that guard?? I looked all over trying to buy one.....and could not find one.......so I took mine off and welded some expanded metal to it. I likely would have bought one if I could find it.
Edit: Prior to fab'ing and welding my own.....I used a campfire grill and zip tied it to my Kubota grill guard. It worked fairly well....but those zip ties were not gonna last forever.

Found several different guys that made them, but this was the only guy that responded and by far the nicest.

When I ran a stick thru the grille on my JD790 I was lucky it bounced off the battery and thru the sheet metal on the side. Patched it back together and immediately build a guard for that tractor. I will seldom "push" hard into a pile of debris anymore. Rather I raise my loader and tilt my open grapple with the jaws the ground....then lower the open grapple onto the pile of sticks and trash.....and close the grapple to secure the load. Works much better / cleaner than "pushing" into a pile and you dont risk damage from the debris.

The first time I did it was $750 for a new radiator and the second time was a $100 as I changed it myself and only had 2 extra screws left over. I bought the repair guide for $20, It was a very good manual probably 30 bolts to take off.

If I were dropping the cash for one that's the route I'd go.
