Its a 3 pt so a tractor. My understanding is a grain drill you won't need to cover the tire tracks like you would with other implements? Wouldn't have to but it sure is nice if you do. If I were dropping the cash for one that's the route I'd go. Other aspects to think about that I've been considering. Storage size. Would need to be hydraulic if you go bigger. In smaller plots I can back up into a tight space and drop the 3 pt. So that is a big negative with hydraulic. I don't think its as simple as just cover the tire tracks.

Actually just found what I’m going to buy. 1600 for the drill and 2000 for the disc. Drill is 6” rows and plants 8’. Disc is a IH and is 9’ in the front and 10’ in the back. Both have been fixed up and ready to work by Augusta man.

Is that 2 row Flex planters behind the drill? Those look like the JD 7000 series 2 row planters he also makes. I bought one last year for planting corn. I don't want to plant beans at 30" rows.

I think you'll be happier with a pull behind vs 3pt. You can have the wife working the plot with the tractor and you follow behind seeding with the UTV.
