Batman and I agree on quality venison. Six months old, think of lamb. Some shoot only big bucks and wonder why no family member likes it. Big bucks go straight to the sausage/sticks pile. Taste problem solved. Yup, gotta hide the taste.

Pan big enough to hold shoulder, olive oil salt pepper at 375 or higher to brown, add can of beer and cover with foil and drop to 300 or lower until its falls off bones. May need another beer en route. 4 ish + hours. Hard to keep it warm unless you just tear it apart and keep it in a bowl etc. Then spread it with some barbecue sauce?

I ordered 4 racks of ribs, 8 sausage links, and a bottle of original sauce from Rudy's BBQ. Mrs Kooch and I used to eat there at the original that was half gas station half BBQ joint. This was back in my USAF days, during my last assignment in San Antonio. Now they are a chain. I hope it's as good as it was before. But, I'm confident it won't be for a lot of reasons. Mrs Kooch is also making some sort of corn casserole, dinner rolls, and a pie. We got one of those Rudy's BBQ near my place in OZ. Pretty good food. They do a huge take-out and catering biz.

We had our family up to the lake for the weekend and our family Christmas celebration. We had roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and all the fixings. All my kids wanted turkey over anything else. Kinda like our Thanksgiving dinner this year. Just had it again tonight. Going to OZ tommorow.....and my wife and I are celebrating alone on Christmas. different for us.
EDIT: OH....and my wife makes the best banana cream pie in the whole world.

Simple and small get-together. Cold turkey or warm shredded. Pickles, fruit and all kinds of cookies, fudge and assorted goodie that will really screw with my weight control.

I am treating like a four day event. We had shrimp, venison tenderloin, and king crab legs today. Tomorrow starts with nana's sausage bread, then onto shrimp, beef tenderloin, and my daughters mash potatoes(she has mastered them). Saturday will be beef tenderloin sliders, and I have a ham to cook at some point. I'm putting this shitty year to bed in style. Some point after that I need to loose 30.

Bone in ham, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberries, Chianti wine and tiramisu and coffee for desert. Pretty traditional stuff but good eating.
