OK.....so here in OZ......staring Tuesday Jan 19th......those of us old geezers (65 and over) can now get vaccinated for covid.
They have the State Farm Dome (home of the Cardinals) set up for drive-thru immunizations. We are going to sign up tommorow. Biden did it. (or not....F'n Biden).
IN other health news.....10 years ago I had my first cancer tumor removed from my bladder. Had a look yesterday.....and I am still cancer free. (F'n Biden).

Congrats Tom on being cancer free.
As far as the vaccine, I had a check up last Tuesday. Doc about shit when he saw how much weight I lost. He asked if it was from being sick or by choice. Told him what I was doing and he said to keep it up. He also suggested I get the covid vaccine as I'm diabetic. I told him its not going to happen as I don't trust it not being out long enough, and all the talk about the new strain of covid that hitting.

I know several people that have got the vaccine. Most of them were sick for a day or two. I have had COVID for a week, I recommend getting the vaccine if you are at risk. I was really sick for three days and now it’s just a lingering yuck feeling. I dropped my wife off at hospital this morning. She hasn’t been able to keep food down for 4 days. She has had something going on since thanksgiving and it seems COVID put it over the top. I will get the vaccine when I can, all the shit I have done to my body side effects are the least of my concern.

I'm guessing the earliest it will be available for my wife and I will be late spring/early summer. She has had allergic reactions to vaccines in the past, so she has zero plans to get it. I've read an awful lot of anecdotal reports about getting sicker than a dog after the vaccine, especially after the second dose. I don't believe I'll get the vaccine until/unless we're all forced to do so.

My sister in law got the second dose last week and was real sick the next couple of days. She seems to be good to go now. I believe us teachers in MN will be getting it in a month or so.

Congrats on the cancer checkup. Any hesitation on getting the vaccine? I will get the Vaccine as soon as we can. Risks are too great to not get it.....IMO. Hesitation?......I suppose. Anything this new can be questionable. I just want to get back to doing "normal" things again.

Were not residents and not 65 but at some point they will get to our age group.

Anything this new can be questionable. I just want to get back to doing "normal" things again. At first I made my mind up that I wasn't interested in the vaccine. I've never had the flu shot and generally have been ok with letting my immune system take care of me. I currently know 3 people my age (41, 47, and 47) who have died from covid, no preexisting conditions for any of them. Also know 2 people who have had a couple of months of thyroid problems since getting covid. Weekly blood work at the hospital for both of them. No reasonable expectation of what to expect going forward. Talked with a runner acquaintance over the weekend who didn't have asthma before covid and does now, might or might not be related but it started when his ability to breath right didn't return after covid. On the other hand I know a lot of people who don't seem to be having problems other than a couple of weeks of being sick. I know several nurses who won't get the shot... yet. They are skeptical of the newness. Also know several nurses and hospital workers who have vaccinated already. Some got sick from it with various symptoms such as nausea and achy body. None of them have been sick from the shot for more than a day. Still not sure where I stand on it, but being sick for a day vs long term thyroid and asthma problems does not sound appealing to me at all. I'm worried about the newness of the vaccine but also know mRNA vaccines have been around since 1995(?). I tell ya that it's eye opening to work with a couple of people who have had to battle this for multiple months in a row. I don't like being sick, and sure as hell don't want to go through the misery they are going through.

I know some woman that got the vaccine, they grew dicks. I know some dudes that got it, they don't have to tuck it between their legs anymore in the mirror and say 'look i'm a lady'. Just saying......
