That sucks. I imagine there will be more and more things/activities that require one or the other in the next couple years. I know what you mean Stu, I just don't know. Omicron is very much less fatal then delta was. Omicron is just more 'contagious'...
After a while you just know its more a political shell game that actually giving a shit about the nation, it's citizens or the human population.
Most ancient political strategy ever; create fear then promise the solution. Blame the population when your solution doesn't work. Repeat.

I had a customer die yesterday, been a customer for over a decade. Perfectly health gentlemen mid 50s. Kind man, easy going guy.
He got covid and went to the hospital, they turned his oxygen up to high and blew holes in his lungs.
Does the death cert say covid? Sure as fuck does, why doesn't it say Medical Fuck up? Because Covid makes money, they aren't trying to save people.
Fact!

I'm not sure how we ever reduce the fear in those who are scared shitless of this virus. It's much easier to induce fear than feelings of safety

I'm not sure how we ever reduce the fear in those who are scared shitless of this virus. It's much easier to induce fear than feelings of safety What emotion is stronger than our fear of mortality? Love? Love requires intimacy and personal connections. A stranger or an inanimate object can steal your mortality. Nope, nothing is as easy or as powerful as fear.

My daughters best friend’s dad went out to celebrate his 50th birthday last Friday. Facebook pictures of the big night bar hopping. Two nights ago he was taken by ambulance to the hospital unable to breath. Him and his wife believe there is a tracker in the vaccine so they didn’t get it. We have no updates since he went to hospital because wife isn’t telling anyone what happened in hopes she won’t have to quarantine. In the meantime she sent her 4 kids to school all week knowing her husband had something. She also knows our kids are together constantly and if my wife gets this now it would be very bad. Her daughter told our daughter and swore her to secrecy. That is mighty big burden to put on your 11 year old kid to cover up your ignorance and self serving bull shit. Hopefully he will be okay, good guy, always hunting and fishing. My wife also got a call last night on one of her roommates while in the hospital. They had become friends and this lady was just told she would need a liver transplant but would still be a few months out. She went home caught Covid and died. She had plenty of comorbidities and probably wouldn’t have made it to transplant. She was 38 years old and you can bet she will be counted as a Covid death. Doesn’t matter she was an obese alcoholic with severe liver disease.

Covid is listed on his death certificate along with the other thing, head missing.

For many of us, if not most, I feel exposure, and probably multiple exposures are almost a sure thing.

A good portion of our hospital visit Thursday dealt with avoiding Covid, flu, and everything else. The kids are our biggest exposure. The doctor we were talking to said we can’t rely on masks or vaccines, no margin of error to rely on those. Basically, she said we had to hibernate for 4 months. After 4 months they start to draw back a little on the immune suppressants, until then she has zero immune system.

5.5 months ago my wife had some major heart surgery. Nearly 12 hours worth. She has struggled to get her strength back to "normal."...at her best, she was able to achieve 50% of her former self. Was climbing a bit better until just before we left MN for AZ. Now going backwards. We had trouble getting through the airports. Then I got that cold and she caught it from me. Has been hard on her.....hopefully she is over it soon. Her pacemaker was readjusted yesterday by a new cardiologis,t and the pacemaker techs here in AZ.....to a lower rate (finally) and she is taking more meds to lower her pulse rate. I hope this will help over time. She is taking allot of meds each day.
She has trouble keeping the medications down. Just went for a slow walk down the street one block and back. Had to stop 4 times and she was throwing up due to heart and meds. If she gets over 112 lbs.....she needs to take another pill and get the fluids off....which realists in more nausea. Nearly 6 months of being sick will wear the strongest warrior down. Trust me......we do not need covid.....or another cold at this point. I dont know what comes next. Just going a day at a time. Good days have not been many lately. Not a good time to have complications.....for anyone.

My sister-in-law traveled to England to see her son snd grandchildren. She came down with Covid. She will need to stay there 10 days after her symptoms go away. I doubt her insurance covers hospitalization while overseas. She had the three shots. Headaches, very tired, and runny nose so far for her.
