This is a buck I shot in 2018. Must have had a hormonal issue, as it had dried up velvet on the rack. Rick Laine from Osakis did a great job (as usual) he is really good. Anyway here is a pic...

That's a cool buck. What time of year did you shoot him?
I've never seen a buck with velvet past mid September.

I just don't remember when I was gutting him. Definitely should have checked it out more.

Cool mount. My son shot a buck with velvet about 5 years ago during gun season. Every thing appeared normal on it. We figured it was a case of low testosterone.

Believe it or not I’m allergic to deer hair. Break out and sneeze for 1/2 hour if I touch it. I have to be very careful when gutting (with gloves) etc...

The one my son shot was full velvet, not peeling/shedding at all. He was running with a group of does when he got shot.

Nice Mount BWoods. Is he really back up 2 years or were you late getting it to him?
A guy I worked with years ago was also allergic to deer hair and he shot a 6 point velvet deer with no nuts. He didn’t know it until a friend gutted it for him.
