I would find a way to form an alliance with the cat. You have common ground after all. I give feral cats a chance. Tomcats scent marking on my buildings lose their chance. I should have shot the fucker last fall when I could, but my wife thought it was "cool looking". This working from home shit needs to end...

My Dad said that if you picked a skunk up quickly by his tail, that he couldn’t spray you. If he did spray you, you weren’t fast enough and you need to quickly do it again. Good JPS logic there. Try it and let us know.

This post makes me want to throw out a couple live traps to catch some free fertilizer this weekend. I have one slow growing apple tree in mind that could use a boost from a few dead critters.

Try it and let us know. We used to boot baby skunks as a form of entertainment. Stay head on (tail end is bad) and bolt as soon you kick and you won't get sprayed. Mout of my fruit trees have a dead critter under them right now.

My buddy that hunts with us at the camp caught a skunk in town last week. He asked if he could release it at our camp. I told him to have my brother shoot it or throw it in the River. I’m not sure if he was joking or not.

Local skunk trapper in town here uses a solid pipe trap (no wire) that is just big enough for skunk to get in and trap door closes. He says skunk can't raise tail to spray, loads into back of pickup, takes to river to drown. Says he never gets sprayed. He got one in my yard and there was no smell.

I had a talk with my other neighbor the other day. He was on the road hunting a skunk who was getting into his outdoor pet food. He said both skunks and cats can’t burb and mixing coke with water will kill them. I never heard of that before but based on him it works.

This is exactly how my FILs brother does it.

12 gauge worked again. No spray. He worked hard to get out of that cage. His paws were small enough to dig through the cage and pull dirt inside it. The towns people keep releasing them on our land.
