Breakfast was done and I enjoyed my second cup of coffee just before sunrise. it is just like being on the deer stand before daylight in bow season, but there are many more sounds to enjoy. Sandhill cranes, geese, pheasants, turtle doves, crows, partridge (grouse), woodpeckers, cardinals, red squirrels, and some other unidentified birds. No woodcock were dancing nor gobbling this morning.

I wish the birds in my hood slept later. They start chirping and singing at 4:30 it wakes me up and normally I can't fall back asleep.

Kind of odd.

Kind of odd. . Gobbling has been slow over here and also from what hunters have told me from 20 miles north. Maybe turkey numbers are down and things are looking up!
