Native plants are a big part of a deer's protein intake. When you hear how some guys soybean plots get destroyed by deer early, I think it is because they lack the native browse that provides protein.

When you hear how some guys soybean plots get destroyed by deer early, I think it is because they lack the native browse that provides protein. The charts on the link show native forbs being used mostly in the summer. I'm with you on the beans; planted early they become the first forbs available after a winter of mainly browse. Filling the gaps on those charts of natives is my main goal with plots.

You guys have any carry over of plants on that chart? Or has the noble done a northern research that is similar? It's handy as all getout to know your natives protein levels and palatability per month.
