^ This is the elephant in the room. Come November....you need some kinda attractant to get those deer in front of your blind......and some good summer groceries grows better deer. We didn't need that when I started deer hunting. Enclosed blinds were likely illegal back then, at the least we would have considered hunting out of such a thing unethical. I think plenty of deer hunters (me included) have become really, really lazy in the last 20-30 years With the amount of work you do to get ready for deer hunting sitting in a blind for 5 days a year sure as fuck don't make you lazy.....

I do the work because I love doing it. That said, most people look at me like I'm crazy when I go off on a tangent about food plotting and fruit trees. I'd imagine most everyone here can relate to that. After talking about clover/alfalfa and watering, I did have a great discussion with a guy my age about making ghost pepper infused dilly beans today. So there's that...

I can't get past the mental image of a bunch of old dudes floating around in a pool. That is just wrong... Hanging out with you and big Jerry and talking shit would certainly be interesting. Nothing like a complete difference in backgrounds to make discussions interesting.

Jerry is so fucking smart he has probably taken linear calculus as well as both normal and non normal statistics I would guess, you were a teacher and I made it barely through ninth grade. Yet I think we have plenty in common. Lol!

And two don’t have arm rests. Without arm rests, you may as well be hunting with a spear.

You and big Jerry have knowledge I enjoy enquiring. I am happy to find my ass with both hands most days. I can talk beer, booze, and growing shit with anybody.

Walking is work, ATV's. Horses are work, tractors. Scouting is work, food plots. Deer drives are work, deer stands. Spearing deer is work, archery. Arching deer is work, firearms. Rubbing two sticks together to make fire is work, bic lighters. Marriage is work, divorce. Work is work, unemployment.

These yellow “weeds” are in one of my food plots. Are the paint brushes? I do have some shorter orange ones that we used to call Indian paint brushes.
