How to create crossings in foodplots

At one time , I had considered a row of shrubs or hybrid poplar for a crossing in this plot.  What has worked best is just two carve out a sidewalk through the corn.  The shrubs or trees would have broken up the plot and made planting/ spraying more difficult.

I got it done today. Last fall, there were 2-3 large scrapes under the red oak at the end of the sidewalk. There is a tree stand in some spruce that are behind the popples to the right of the sidewalk.
