This must be a coincidence that these two bucks are meeting in front of my camera while looking for does. They look like a couple of young guys out on the town looking for skirt. That one is a pretty nice buck.

This was one of the bucks west of the house last night. Think this was him from October This is a buck I believe my wife and I saw from the house a couple weeks ago. I might shoot this one if I saw it with the shotgun. Not sure if this guy is one of the previous 2 ^^^ or a different buck entirely

No horns on this one, but I always like seeing a Rooster make an appearance.

Does that get a lot of attention as a stand alone or are they coming there for the plot and that’s just a way to keep them around longer?

That particular licking branch doesn't get a lot of stand alone attention. They do use it every year, but it doesn't get torn up like some of my other set ups. The bucks using this set up are generally there to check the plot for does and to evaluate their competition.

I remember when I lived in Long Prairie the average buck weight in the contests (from LP to Starbuck) was around 20-30 lbs bigger in Todd County.

I remember when I lived in Long Prairie the average buck weight in the contests (from LP to Starbuck) was around 20-30 lbs bigger in Todd County. A guy who hunts north of me a few miles showed me some trailcam pics last weekend. They have a lose co-op of a few hundred acres where the goal is to shoot 140" or better bucks. Most of the hunters follow that rule. He has a couple bucks that have to be over 300 lbs. on the hoof. Just massive bodies. Racks were nice, but not that much over 140" from what I could tell.

This one looks like long beans and short tubes. Pretty sure it’s different from the two above. All pics from early this morning. Edit! Just noticed “Long beans and short tubes” from above. No proof reading for this guy.

I had similar activity early last week. I’m hoping the cold temps will start some activity Friday-Sunday. Rain will stop and cooler temps might help trigger some rut activity.
