1500 for that. Lmao I am sure any taxidermy has value. The world is filled with people with different interests.i have sold a lot of odd shit Some interior decorator or someone that has few clues on the value may just pay up if they want it bad enough. The people (lady) next door to me at the lake have peculiar ideas about some stuff (lots of goofy ideas if you ask me) and they have a bronze yard animal that looks like a deer but has an elk rack. It's goofy and I'm sure she paid allot of money for it. Then take a look at some of the chain saw carving that folks shell out thousands of dollars to buy. P.T. Barnum summed it up: "There is a sucker born every day".

Time and prices have changed. Last whitetail I had mounted was from a taxidermist in Rochester MN.....and he charged me $250 for a shoulder mount. Likely one of the best mounts I have seen. I have had elk, muleies, antelope, and bear since then.....but I do not recall any of them costing over $600 or so. (I was writing them off as business expense back then.....so I really did not care). I have doubts I will have another mount made.....and in fact do not know what to do with the ones we have if I move again. Also got hides and too many hunting "momentos". Been cleaning house....and giving much of this stuff to my family.....a bit at a time. Not sure they want my mounts....they got their own. It takes some time to find a good home for these things.....with people that appreciate them. What do you do with old mounts? They do have memories still....but will not make it to the next place we live. Enjoy 'em while they last. . I figure mine will go in the 20 yard rolloff at some point, either by my hands or whoever gets stuck cleaning out my mess when I'm dead. I told my wife if we ever sell and move to FL permanently, the mounts aren't getting relocated. She was surprised I wouldn't take them along. If I move down there, I'd be done deer hunting, and the mounts wouldn't have any purpose for me at that point. I like getting new mounts done, and helping support my local taxidermist so he can make a living is a good thing IMO. A guy could offer the mounts for free to a local sports bar or some other place I suppose. My cousin who moved to Lake Havasu sold his mounts to some FIB before moving. He listed them on craigslist and they were gone quickly. Now, he's living back in WI and started deer hunting again. Decided to toss some old small euro mounts and sheds this spring when doing some de-cluttering. Put them in the hosta garden, where they looked good, caveman yard art. The mice and squirrels reduced them a lot this year. Should be completely gone next year.

When your wife says deer mount isn't fancy enough for the house.
