We’re rounding the corner. We’ve already passed the summer solstice, marking the day when the sun is closest to the center pole and now moving back towards the arctic shore. We’re also 17 days away from the hottest day of the year. It’s less than 90 days now. I cannot wait to get back in the shack and hopefully look over a big brand new plot. (At a proper social distance of course.)

I am very excited for the archery season. There will be some arrows flying in 2021. Need some meat in the freezer!

Can we use crossbows this year? We should find out in the next month or so. Light winter, dry summer, the native vegetation must be getting pounded according to DNR models.

I was guessing they'd just pass it without much discussion/press, that way any opposition would be already be in a losing position. That's just a guess though

I am excited as I always am. The new 40 acres we bought I think will be a game changer for us all season long.

• Many policy proposals were left hanging. The state's walleye limit will remain six, not four as proposed. The rifle zone for deer hunting remains unchanged. A proposal to establish a wolf-hunting season went nowhere, as did multiyear efforts to require nontoxic shot on farmland-region state wildlife management areas.

That's just a guess though I heard some talk about Democrats not wanting any more guns or gun seasons in MN? LOL
But that was just a rumor, maybe they didn't understand there was already a season?
