You gotta be careful with PRS. She's kinda like a vampire, harmless so long as you don't invite her in the house. But once she's in, it's hard to get her to leave. How old are the cables? Under 5 years old? Cat5 or 6?? I’m forgetting my past but, some of the older Ethernet cables would work one way but, not another. Sometimes you had to switch them around. Kooch probably knows what I’m talking about. If the direct connect works then it’s probably the cabling in between the router and modem. Try switching the cable from the wall with the router/modem cable. You're talking about crossover cables I think. I don't think it matters which way you hook them up. But, we don't use them anymore for much of anything. I can't think of the last time I even heard the term. NICs software is smart enough to handle this nowadays on it's own.

I connected my pc directly to the modem/router, and it hooked up to the internet right away. That's a good sign. Do you know how to check it's IP address? I wonder if you're not getting a valid DHCP response on your wireless network. This could give you an invalid gateway, for example. If the gateway setting is bad, your computer doesn't know where to route it's data. I don't know shit about fuck, when it comes to deer hunting. But I know my TCP-IP. Edit - Cat5 should be fine for your use.

That’s it crossover cables. Those were really old technology but, I took hundreds of calls years ago about them.

Then, connects to WiFI and gets local network but no Internet. It's probably a route issue. That's the next thing I'd look at.

Big thanks to Kooch for getting me over the top! I was getting angry just as he shot me a text.
Many thanks to all that chimed in and helped troubleshoot. May your barley germinate swiftly and fill out nicely in time for your first evening hunt this fall.

It was the flux capacitor. Was Bob involved in any way? He could be homesick for his old pad.

It was the flux capacitor. Was Bob involved in any way? He could be homesick for his old pad. I liked the extra attention for about ten seconds, then I also wished the internet was working. I like it here. There's no pungent smells of human excrement covered in vomit and garnished with burnt hair. The old hood went downhill in the time we were there. It was time to upgrade. This new joint is swank as hell. Here's what's new: Ice maker A light over the blackstone on the patio The laundry is in the bedroom closet, so out of the dryer right to the hangers before you get whistled for traveling. The bedroom closet is huge There's a pool table in the building The blinds are inside the glass on the patio door and patio windows There's more storage everywhere (kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, closets) The kitchen has a proper pantry It's bigger It's newer (built in 2017)

We've seen more 5+ than 4- since we've been here. We keep the cat, land, and suburu stuff confidential until we know she's down for the struggle. Once they know you've got a 2013 Suburu and your own outhouse, people think you got money.
