It isn't an old bear, but he is old enough to snap a lot of apple tree limbs. If you can get over the counter bear tags you may want to consider hunting him for the sake of your apple trees.

I don't know much about bears. Young male? Looks like a 2 1/2 year old boar. Some thing in that hole has his attention. It is breeding season and he may just be passing thru.

At some point there may or may not have been salt/minerals in that spot. Lol. True story, when Wisconsin allowed minerals to be put out. I had a mineral spot with a trail cam on it. I went in to switch cards on camera, not paying attention I got about 5 feet away from the mineral and there layed about a 500 pound bear sleeping. When I saw him I jumped, think my heart stopped for a second or two. When I jumped it woke the bear up. He looked at me and lumbered off in the other direction. That was the last year I put minerals out as CWD came to Wisconsin and the DNR made it illegal.
