As I was driving thru Akeley, I decided to stop and see the tree again. Just as I got there, some guy in a rusted out POS silver cavalier was picking a bag full of mushy apples off this tree. He drove away shouting some shit about gypsum and yelling “Jackass!” at the top of his lungs. I wonder what that guy is gonna do with those apples. Could he pop the seeds outta that mush and try to sprout and plant them into a size 6 plug block? It’d be cool if he could get 10 or 20 of those to go, but would they be the same as the parent tree?

SD,
They could all be a little different. If there are other apple trees near the bees could cross pollinate with this tree and make a larger apple if the stars align.

I looked at those trees last fall.
There are some weird characters out there. Some don’t even have electricity.
I saw another weird character. Friday night, a guy grabbed some rotten apples from in front of a courthouse. He was an old fart and maybe hungry as he could be reaching retirement age. I felt sorry for him in that old Buick.

A dozen of those ^^^ would make for a great shed hunting place. There wasn't one hanging below the browse line. May grab a bag full on my way home again. This time hopefully remember to plant the seeds in spring.

A dozen of those ^^^ would make for a great shed hunting place. That comment reminded me of a discussion between my brother in law and his wife. He said he was going shed hunting. She said he doesn’t need another shed, all ready has one.
