Here is the area I hunted from last fall. Yellow is where the round bales were last year that I sat between. Not an option this year. X's are tripod stands that have been there for a few years but no longer used and I have permission to use. On my evening bike ride I see deer coming out of the woods near both stands. The one to the south has a few oak trees near it. Last year many deer came out of the woods near the stand to the north and made their way to the south stand. This year I'm seeing more coming out near the south stand. I have a ground blind and thinking of putting it somewhere along the orange strip. My way of thinking is the deer are accustom to both tripod stands. The ground blind will be something new so they may avoid it. But I'll be sitting in the tripod near the ground blind. What are your thoughts, this is bow hunting only. Deer will not go to the south as there are homes there, They will head east for the clover and corn.

You're using the ground blind to push them closer to the tripod? You know the first hunt will find you watching the buck of your lifetime sniffing the ground blind at 5yds...

What is that green area pointing East on the west edge of the field? Is it a wetland or something that alters deer movement?

If you access the property from the north highway I like that yellow area since you can slip in and out easily without spooking too many deer and you could hunt any westerly wind. Could you brush in your ground blind in those trees by the yellow dot?

It doesn't alter movement to my knowledge.

Could you brush in your ground blind in those trees by the yellow dot? I do come in from the road to the north. The yellow area is where the round bales were last year. Deer alway came out near them. Thats not the case this year as the bales are gone. I should be able to get to either tripod with a west wind. I'd have a spot to sit with any wind but an east.

I say you forget about the blind and get 10 of your best buddies drunk and push those woods like a real man. Make them be the walkers and you can just start flingin' arrows.

Maybe get another pop up and put it near where the bales were?

I'm never a fan of doing anything that'll change a bucks behavior just before a hunt. My cousins put a stump blind out on a food plot one time, the next day their 3 target bucks walked out to the field edge looked at the blind, stomped at, blew, and never went back into that field until after season. These 3 bucks were like clockwork coming into the field every day before they put the blind up.

Or use tripods for early season and put the ground blind out for late season bow.
