Last year at the end of the season my snow blower took a shit. Last night on our walk I see a guy in town has an Ariens 28" that is 3 years old and looks like new for sale. He's asking 800, a new one at fleet same model is 1400. Menards has a $1000 28" snapper on sale for 900. Both name brands have been around a while but I have no experience with either. Which way would you go? His reason for selling is his health will no longer allow him to use it.

I'd offer the guy with the Ariens $700 cash. Anything with a motor that Menard's sells makes me a bit nervous.

Ariens over snapper. If the unit is good he won't have a problem selling it the first snow that drops so if its a fair deal I would buy it.

Airens is built 20 miles from me. If maintained they will last a life time.

I got an Ariens last year, so I don't have a lot of history with it. I do like it a lot.

I have an ariens and it is nice. It has the plug in electric start and that is the greatest thing ever.

Yes. Make sure to get one with the plug in starter. I thought it was an add on luxury I didn't need until I used it.

I bought it. He stuck firm to his 800. Still think I got a good deal. Just went through it oil change removed service covers to grease and check belt. Looks like new.

I was going to suggest checking the belts. I was thinking they might be a little crispy. I’d buy a backup set now so if they do go you don’t have a problem getting them when you need them. I checked my blower out last week. I’m ready for the first storm. Hopefully it doesn’t happen when im in Ohio. Lol

Shoulders are shot from trying to pull start the fucker. It ran great yesterday. Left it out overnight and now it won't start again.
