It started long before VITAX my friend. When I actually worked for a living. Lol. I probably should have put a winkey face in my post. My mother worked for 40 years for canteen corporation as a food server for a huge private dining room in downtown mpls and they were not allowed to take tips. I seen how hard she worked for very little money. Just want to help other servers not go through that.

Worst job I've ever had in my life was busboy at a fancy restaurant in the Dana Point CA harbor. I didn't last long.

Mrs Kooch and I had a couple things to take care of at the VA hospital this morning at Fort Snelling. Afterwards, we drove down to St. Paul for a late breakfast at Mickey's Diner. It was busy, and the lone waitress was busting her old ass, but smiling and polite. The old gal working the grill was grinding out omlettes and hashbrowns nonstop. The skinny grey haired dude in the back was scrubbing dishes and busing tables. Every employee was hustling.
A guy that ate alone quietly at the bar, dropped a hundred dollar tip and a walked out silently. The staff about shit themselves when they realized what he'd done. The smiles, the "Can you believe this?!!!"
So when we left, we also put down a $100 on the table and snuck out. It was a good morning for that gal.

Just so somebody else didn’t grab the $100.

I haven’t done it yet, but am considering paying for someone else’s gas Inside the store and just quietly telling the worker to tell that person Merry Christmas when they get to the till. I probably would do it for a veteran or a person who was driving an older car.

. I got to agree. We try and hide the tip under our plate or somewhere not easy for others to pick up.

He told the cashier not to do it, I asked again, he said no, now we are both standing there with the cashier staring at us. I felt like an idiot.

I was in A hooters in KC about 5 years ago and there were a bunch of army guys in fatigues were sitting at a table. Told their waitress I was picking up their tab and gave her a Hundo if she didn’t tell them. Worked out perfect. Some guys don’t like someone else paying, Me included. You need to be sneaky sometimes to get it done. Lol

He was nice about it but it definitely wasn’t happening.

Very cool you guys buying other people's meals. I'll hire kids to do jobs around the place once in a while. Occasionally they will get a bonus tip for going above and beyond. The kid who watched after our animals while we were in MO for Thanksgiving got a good tip. Spent an hour each morning and afternoon playing with the dog 4 days straight. Found out when we got back she had been sick with a 103 fever at the time but she wouldn't slack on her job.
Wife and I went out for our anniversary yesterday. Had a first for me, the waitress spilled a tray of drinks on me as I was getting up to leave. She'd already been tipped...

I was talking with my wife yesterday about giving our favorite bar tender a nice "Christmas" tip today. She and her husband are leaving for a FL vacation soon, and I figured they could have a nice meal on us. My wife is a cheapskate
