44 mag S&W 629 would definitely fit your description. They are pricey now. Taurus makes a couple different pistols that would meet your description without breaking bank. This is what I have, not as heavy as a Ruger and you will feel it in your wrist if you shoot a box. She really snaps off. It is big and shiny though.

I had a 629 for a while, 4". Either I don't know how to hold one right, or my hands are soft computer guy hands. I literally ripped skin in the web between my thumb and forefinger, then I bled. This happened twice, so I just sold it.

This happened twice, so I just sold it. I'm a wuss when it comes to handguns that kick, won't even intertain a .357 mag after shooting a couple of friend's.

Has a pretty heavy lug under barrel so the snap wasn't bad. I could put 6 shots in a 6 inch pie plate at 20 yards. Left a buddy shoot it and he never hit the pie plate in 6 rounds.
