I have a 6-7 year old all winter hangover about 10’ tall I want to move. It is to close to a native tree. I originally thought the angle would give it enough sun but I am not happy with where it is at. Of coarse it is one of my best looking trees. The original hole was dug with a back hoe so it should be rock free digging to get it out. Would you risk it?

If it’s one of your best trees what makes you not happy?

If it’s one of your best trees what makes you not happy? It is to close to a nice native tree and isn’t getting enough sun.

I'd cut down the tree shading it. If I was going to move the apple tree, I'd probably rent a tree spade.

I'd cut down the tree shading it. If I was going to move the apple tree, I'd probably rent a tree spade. It is one of my better native trees. It gets large yellow apples that are pretty tasty. I never should have put the tree there. I had two trees left and no room for them so I stuck them there. A dead elm took out the other one last year. Now I have lots of room but tree is probably to big to move. Next Saturday will be last chance, I will see how much rain is forecasted for following week.
