I am looking at soybeans for a few plots, what is the latest you guys like to plant (Minnesota)...?
With costs up there for plots, I am thinking more beans in 22!

Are you planting for beans or for greens in hopes of early bow season?

Are you planting for beans or for greens in hopes of early bow season? Probably a little of both--fall attractant basically.

Goal is … deer comes to beans to eat, hunter shoots deer with bow. I guess I’m most concerned with the October-November time frame ?

If that is your goal you probably want them in by early June at the latest. Get a early maturity variety that will help get them to maturity if you plant them later. The problem with soybeans is if you get an early heavy frost they are done, so the pods have to be developed before that happens.

If you are most concerned with October/November deer action, then plant them in May to maximize grain yields. I've planted as late as late June, but the grain yield was lower.
I'm in SE MN and I have the best luck planting soybeans in mid-May.

I will try to shoot for June 1. I guess it will depend on time. All the crop around it in the area will be wheat, so beans should be attractive!

You have a lot of wheat in your area? I've never hunted an area that had wheat in the rotation.

The seeding rate that works with 12 acres of soybeans doesn't work at all with only 2 acres since the deer browsed the 2 acres very hard.
