I planted 8 acres of switchgrass last winter that did fairly well. It is now starting it's second season growth. I've heard that 24d can damage or kill young seedling switch that is not past the "five leaf" stage. Does this apply to second year regrowth? The bases of last year's plants are just now sprouting out and in the 3-6" range. I didn't know if 24D would damage the semi mature regrowth or if that metric only applied to the seedlings. I applied simazine before it warmed up and it's doing the job but have some thistle and other random broad leaves that made it through the pre emergent. Would love knock those out while they're small but don't Wana murder the fresh regrowth.

I would think you would be ok however if you want to be sure call your local soil and water conservation office.

I wouldn't trust it, I've read of some horror stories on the web of using 24d on germinated switch . unless your just spot spraying I would just mow.
