It appears Cleth is safe to spray on my pine and spruce seedlings. I think a spray to knock back grasses would help.
The label talks about spraying per acre. How would you mix it for a small hand held sprayer to spot spray a handful of barefoot trees?

My 25 gallon atv sprayer does about an acre at 5-7 mph. I mix 8 oz. gallon cleth/8 oz. gallon NIS when I spray my acre(ish) of wildflowers.
If a person takes those numbers down to oz./gallon = about .3 oz gallon each of cleth/NIS.
Not a recommendation, just an observation
FWIW...on my old jug of Cleth I had written .3-.75 oz. per gallon

Thanks. I’ve never used Cleth before but I just bought my first jug. Figured it could help some trees and maybe extend clover plots.

I should add to my comments on cleth rates. 8 oz./acre is the recommended rate when applied to young, annual grasses. 16 oz./acre is recommended for older annual grasses or established perennial grasses. I've found that hitting my wildflowers with two 8 oz. doses 2-3 weeks apart delivers better control than a single "hot" 16 oz. dose. YMMV
