I sprayed my pasture that was mostly brome a month ago. Now the broadleaves are starting to kick in so I mowed today. This plant is new to me and I’m concerned. It doesn’t look like something glyphosate is going to kill. They all got mowed today. The tallest ones were about a foot tall. Anybody have an idea?

Found it myself. Horsetail.

Yup, horsetail. SD can give you a dissertation on dealing with the stuff.

I had some horsetail in a somewhat sandy plot and you are correct that the stuff is hard to kill with chemicals. My horsetail seems to have faded away after I added more lime to that plot.
I also see that stuff growing naturally in low, frequently wet areas around streams. It can take over those kinds of areas, but it doesn't seem to do as well in fields.

One thing not to do with horsetail is to till the stuff up. Every root segment will grow more of the stuff and you'll spread it everywhere.
