Have your shopping habits changed since covid and the increase in fuel price?

I have found that I am more likely to shop locally or order some things on line. The local lumber yard, the hardware stores, and the small town fleet supply are more likely to get my business than Menards, Cabelas, or what used to be called Mill’s Fleet.
I needed a section of non perforated drain tile and a catch basin for a project by the house. Choices were Menards, order on line, or the local lumber yard. The local lumber yard ordered the basin and had it within two days. They told me to take the roll of tile home and measure what I used. Pay the bill when I bring it back.
One of my ultralight fishing rods bit the dust. I went to the local fleet farm and picked one out. At check out, the clerk told me they have a 20% off coupon in the paper as a Father’s Day special. They gave me the discount.
You don’t see these things in the bigger stores and bigger regional centers.
I am back to shopping locally, even if it is a few bucks more. I go on line for more things not available locally.

What kind of ultra light rod do you use? My mom's St. Croix panfish series keeps breaking at the tip but they keep giving her a new one. I have yet to break my G. Loomis UL. Those St Croix panfish series are really thin at the end.

Buy more online, and making less trips to buy less stuff.
Little local shops get less of my business as just running to the store for one thing is something not done very often anymore. And if I'm buying a bunch of things I'm making the trip to the big store. Did buy a nut at the local hardware store last week, $2.39 for the one nut.
Starting to pass up many things at the grocery store.

Buying less stuff. Making less trips to town (30 miles each way to the closest place to shop). Carpooling with the family more.

Using phone a lot more, calling to see if items are in stock & prices. (tired of running to 2-3 stores to find items). Watching in store sales closer & online more. Making more lists so I'm making fewer trips especially if item is not needed right away.

I have stopped going to Alex, Brainerd/Baxter, and St. Cloud pretty much entirely. I stopped going to St. Cloud and Brainerd/Baxter before Covid. I stopped going to Alex after. Other than Walmart, the only "big box" store I've been to since Covid is a Menard's...one time.
I online order what I can't get locally.
I do want to put down some pell lime and gypsum sometime soon. That'll require a trip to a Menard's I suppose.
