I was up to Kamp Kooch yesterday to collect a load of stuff from the storage container. I put a lot of work into plots last year, then sold the joint for a number of reasons. A few years of work went into making these plots happen, carved straight out 25 year old forest regrowth. I took a quick walk out the plot complex. Skinny plot. First year of clover, chicory with a WR cover. I was finally going to move to perennials for a while on this plot. This is The big North plot I put in last year. It’s about three acres. The WR really came in solid. If I’d kept the place I was planning to just broadcast more MR clover and a couple pounds an acre of a brassica then mow when the rye was viable, hoping for a free rye plot.

That looks great but life changes and you will thoroughly enjoy your new home.

That’s about as good looking of stand of rye as I’ve seen. How heavy did you seed it? Feel good that you left a legacy behind that the new owner should take advantage of. Imagine the fun you will have at the new place when you will be there all the time.

Imagine the fun you will have at the new place when you will be there all the time. How heavy? Ridiculously heavy. Don't look in the old Hoochy Koochy thread and sharpshoot me on these numbers. But, if memory serves me right: 1,500LB/acre SuperCal 98 200LB/acre 9-28-30 (or something like that ratio) fert. Sprayed with gordon's brush killer and glyphosate twice to kill the poplar regrowth and other stuff. 100LBS an acre WR THREE TIMES All of it just broadcast. I killed two ATV pull behind spreaders in the process. It's bumpy and I go too fast. It didn't look like much last Fall.
