We will have an official scorer at the fair in Little Falls if anyone wants to drive a bit and bring a rack or bear skull in. Scoring is free, if you wish to enter it in the books, you pay him. He will be there this Friday afternoon and Saturday, July 22 and 23.
He does PY,BC, and Minnesota Record books. At least that is what he did 4-5 years ago.
It is a small fair, most years you just pay for parking.
Look for the brown, cedar sided building. Sponsored by the Morrison County Chapter of MDHA.

Things are looking up at the QDMA Deertopia Proving grounds site. Maybe not record book stuff......but getting better bucks on camera on a daily basis. I thinK I have 1/2 dozen quality bucks here. Seems they never get over this age status tho.....just never see the 12 pointers or the thurdy point bux. I think Art snipes 'em over the winter. They are eating good in any event. If you shoot them before they get as big as you want them to be, they'll never get as big as you want them to be

Five book entries today and some others chose not to enter any of the books.
One interesting discussion about a large bear skull. Would it have measured more if it went in the bug box instead of being boiled?

I shot a really nice bear a number of years ago and my taxidermist would not boil it since he want me to beetle it said it would score better

Interesting story is that this gentleman’s father in law brought in a BC rack the last time we did this. His father in law shot the buck in Ottertail County where he farmed in the 50’s. His father in law was a farm client of mine, decades back.

I've forgotten what it looks like up close.
