The old saying goes....it's easier to get pardoned than get permission. I would quit talking to folks about it. Interpret the law the way it benefits you and move on.

I'm a 612'er under a microscope that averages a visit by the police for each time I visit my property. Got to have my I's dotted and T's crossed cause others are making sure I do too.

Get everything in writing and proceed as you wish.
We just talked to a gal last night who has been put through the wringer. She bought an old lake home and is trying to bring everything up to modern standards. It's been a nightmare for her and she's not even a citidiot. The main issue she's been dealing with is the other lake home owners (citidiots) in her area that complain about everything...even though she's always gone through the permitting process.

Am I the only city idiot that managed to get along extremely well with all of his up North neighbors? I loved everyone up there except the drug dealing tweaker but we managed to get him removed and put behind bars.
After that, smooth sailing. I’m gonna miss that place.

I think you knew the key to getting along with 90% of people in farm or up north communities. That is to honor the ‘fence’. ‘You do what you want on your side and I do what I want on my side. If you are doing something near the line, stop and talk about it first. The problem occur when one neighbor tries to control what the other neighbor does.‘ That said, I have one problem neighbor that I struggle with. |
