I swore that I was done painting houses after I painted (and primed, and taped) every ceiling and wall in my wife's old place.
Now, I'm thinking about painting a few walls here after our new floor tiles are installed. Anybody use the Frog tape? Is it as much better as the normal blue painter's tape as is advertised?

Frog tape is mandatory.
When are the floors in?

Why not paint before the floors get put in?

Frog tape is mandatory. When are the floors in? Started going in yesterday. Underlayment (Ditra) is down now, tile starts going down today.

Why not paint before the floors get put in? Because walls inevitably get dinged up when taking out carpet and trim.

I'm use to working at my own pace and not that of crews coming in. I would have torn out the carpet, repaired the walls, painted (without a worry in the world about paint splatters on the floor), then put in the new floor. I really dislike taping. Don't know why but will go to lengths to avoid it.

Even if I had the ability to install tile floors, I don't think I could be on my knees for a few days. I also dislike taping out. I used to have a steady enough hand to cut in with a good quality angle brush. I don't anymore. I'm not going to paint the entire house, probably only 3-4 walls. At some point in the next decade or so, I'll pay somebody to come in and paint all of the interior walls. Maybe have the doors and cabinets re-finished too....that is if I live long enough anyway

Never had a stead hand for cutting in. Always had to use tape as a safety measure. 10x worse now.

Progress. The tile in both rooms will likely be done tomorrow. I don't know if he'll get to the backsplash or not. My guess is it'll be next Weds/Thurs before the whole deal is done.
