So....I got a nice shower with travertine stone on the walls and ceiling and a "can / fan" that provides light and has a blower to pull the steam out of the shower......as shown above. After nine years in this home....the bulb goes out. I go to replace it.....and it is evidently corroded into the fixture and due to the tight quarters....I cannot get a hold of the bulb. Further.....the bulb is loose in the box that houses the bulb and fan. I try to pull the bezel out.....no dice. I break it slightly and figure I will super-glue to repair .....IF I CAN JUST GET THE DAMN TRIM RING AND BULB OUT. Look it up on line.....and find the manufacture of the fixture and see the bulb requirements and the way the fixture was designed to be installed. The electrician put in the WONG SIZE and wrong style of bulbs. He put a large fluorescent bulb in where it should be a smaller LED bulb.....AND TO MAKE matters worse he GLUED the trim ring to the tile so the bulb cannot be removed without destroying the trim ring! I texted the pic above and this description to the Electoral co.owner. He wanted me to just break the trim ring and replace the burned out bulb and he would furnish a new trim ring. I told him I was not about to do that.....and that I expected him to come here and find a proper solution to this issue on all three of my fixtures like this. His response was that he would call me with a date to do this. Feels like a stall and I will get the run-around. I'm really torqued at an idiot such as him. Seems like he wants me to own his problems and fool around with each fixture when the bulbs go bad. I'm not planning to go down that rabbit hole. I contend that he did not follow installation instructions and it's his problem or my builders problem. The electrician says that the tile installers sometimes dont leave a large enough rough-opening to install the trim ring the right way. However....if this was in fact the case.....had he put the proper bulb in then the fixtures would still be serviceable. I suppose I could break the bulbs and replace them that way......but what if that does not work right. The bulbs seem that they are not properly oriented in the fixture now. I suspect they jerry-rigged that location too (But I do not know this). MY question is......I have a ten year home warranty from the builder.....and I am right at year nine. Should I take this issue to the builder or continue to "work with" the electrician??
Looking for a voice of reason here. Thanks.

I would consider calling the builder as I assume he subcontracted to the electrician. Either way, it might speed things along.

Gonna wait to see if I get the electricians attention first.....I think he is just going to stonewall me. I just thought now....that I really cant get this fixed in a few days anyway. Gonna have to slide it on the back burner till we get bak on Nov 30th. Sometimes I need to write it down and think on it a bit. Just finished a shower in the dark....lol. Going out for an Anniversary dinner with my Bride of 53 years tonight!

Congrats on the 53! Very impressive. I hope she is in good health (you've mentioned it in the past). Personally, I would get ahold of the builder and let him know you want it fixed right away. The electrician might be booked for a while but maybe the builder will find a repair man to make it right in short order.

Thanks Art and Cat. Mrs Foggy has a big surgery coming up after the new year. This will be her 4th open heart surgery to replace two valves. Could not do it via other transcather methods.....so this has become the remaining solution for her. We got a great surgeon for her....and he and the heart team has a good handle on her needs and situation. Still no absolute date right now, but it needs to happen in Jan.
Had a great meal with my bride tonight....and had allot of fun. Great food at the Char at Grandview Lodge. Not sure how she has tolerated me all these years, but here we are. Working on more good years to follow.

Toms congrats to you and Connie on the 53. IF you have a warranty with the builder he's your contact. The sparky was sub contracted. The builder may have has other issues with this sparky. Anyway I hope it gets resolved for you. Good luck and prayers for the Mrs.
