How many of you guys do this? Do you disc or disturb soil at all? Welcome to the forum. I do not grow foodplots in my orchards because I spray my fruit trees. I don't want to kill beneficial insects living on other plants and I want the fruit trees to get the moisture/nutrients from the soil.

I don't spray my apple trees yet in my food plot, so I plant clover/alfalfa/chicory around and under my fruit trees. I used a 3 point disk to lightly disk around the trees when I planted around the trees and I didn't notice any damage to the trees. In the future I will probably stay 10' away from the trees though just to be safe though now that the trees are getting bigger.

I have a 3 acre orchard plot. I don’t till the soil but I spray roundup when I want to change the plot or the grass gets too thick.

Welcome! My orchards are in plots. I don't disturb soil in any plots. 100% throw-n-mow. Perennial and annual clovers, chicory, alfalfa, brassicas, wheat, rye, sunflowers, etc. I don't spray my fruit trees.
