If you'll feel dirty doing it then don't do it. I personally have nothing against baiting. Well I shouldn't say nothing, but it's not really a thing to me. Kind of like the difference between a self bow kill and a compound kill. I give one more respect than the other, but they both got it done. Just a deer... do what you feel like.

Just to expand on the ethics part a bit, how many feel that if the snow is deep and it looks like a tough winter, we shouldn’t hunt?
Each area and environment is different.
I for one, will be glad when the season is closed. Granted, we had a great year.
I feel the same way about pheasants this year. There are so few, don’t hunt.
Now those dang turkeys …..

Mixed feelings, but rooster pheasants that may die anyway, I don’t see why we’d save them ? Not many pheasant hunters out right now anyway.

The last few days that I've walked I've spooked anywhere from 3-4 to 10-12 roosters (yep, all roosters) off the huge piles of cow manure that the farmer dumped across from me back in late November. I imagine they enjoy the remaining warmth as well as all the "fermented" corn kernels.

I suspect our pockets of more rain wiped out most of our hatches.

Daydreamer… any updates ? Headed out this afternoon hoping for some wind cover and the snow to soften up a bit. Yesterday was too crunchy. There are 4-5 bedding in there from what I can tell.

I would shoot. A few years ago a neighbor in my development dumped some corn around the retention pond 2 lots down. Late muzzleloading I saw 5 deer eating the corn from my house. I snuck through the yard and made it to the woods without being busted. I circled around behind them and when they went back in the woods I had a fat doe for the freezer. The neighbor never but corn out again.

Literally right where I just walked! Either way I guess it’s a survivor for next year and one that I don’t recall having on camera for months.

Makes a guy wonder if it is so necessary to not have deer cross your walk in trail to a stand. Should be a good one next season.

A cam I had on our farm... My nephew walked in opening rifle and less than a minute later a doe walked on the same trail. Second weekend rifle, my son walked in on the same trail. Just over a minute later a yearling buck followed his exact trail.

Man I’m really wondering how long these folks have been feeding and how much it might have messed with my season. Ever since I put a cam up on the north side there’s been a lot of activity. Could that be where they were hanging out most of the season?? Really makes a guy think. These aren’t hunters and they only have about 5 acres of crp grasses. Almost no pics where my main food plot and elevated blind are.
