Anyone ever graft “people” cherries to wild black cherries? Like persimmon, I have a ton of wild cherry trees around 4 years old. Could they be grafted to a people friendly fruit to create more mast for wildlife and people snacks?
Is there a variety you recommend?

I've always read that grafting people cherries to wild black cherry (prunus serotina) isn't likely to work. If what you call wild black cherry is prunus avium, then you may have a chance. I don't think grafting cherries is as easy as apples or pears, but I haven't tried it either.
Not much help from me.

The All About Grafting guy on YouTube made a living grafting over commercial orchards of cherries over close to 40 years. He says they’re much harder than apples.
