Found a flaw in the design. Or a flaw in one chicken that is. Appears 9 out of ten chickens know how to walk back up the stairs at night so they can roost in the coop. One can’t simply hop on the stairs and go with them. Thought it was better to stay in the basement and chirp. So we had to go in after her. Stupid fricken chickens.

Does your daughter live on your MN property or is that somewhere else? That's a pretty fancy chicken coop. If you move it around every day, it will be a good way to fertilize your lawn and get rid of any bugs in that area. I don't think a grasshopper would want to hop inside that fencing.

We are giving her the farm when we move. Probably sooner then later. She loves it there, gets to hunt everything right out the back door. Gets to drive around on the golf cart and drink with her mother. She likes that a lot. Chickens are young so she will move them about every 10-14 days.

Well the daughters chickens are starting to produce some eggs finally. With as much money as I got into this coop the run and the feed, cost is about $600/dozen currently. Lol

Have there been any issues with predators getting in the chicken coop? Can they eat enough grass and bugs in their pen to help cut down on feed costs?
Home grown eggs are very good, much better than the cheap ones I buy at Kwik Trip.

Home grown eggs are very good, much better than the cheap ones I buy at Kwik Trip. Not one issue with predators. The chickens get locked in the coop at night and the trap door they go up and down on is locked as well. Plus one of us are here outside all day. Only thing I seen was a hawk land on top of the run and he could not find a way because the roof is covered.
