Years ago we decided to turn a salt lick into a saltwater hole. Enlarged it to hold water and add softer salt or any salt for that matter. Deer make it bigger every year. And always attracts daytime and nighttime bucks.

This year my salt water hole is dry. Never seen that happen before. I was hoping for a wet week so that hole would have standing water for rut action. It seems most every buck that goes through my place late October through mid November stops for a sniff and a drink at that location.
