One thing in life I really wish I had gotten,,,, motorhead knowledge. I could never touch a motor/car. I have ZERO knowledge of all the workings. My mom would say: I was born holding a Daisy air rifle.....and she teethed me on a Crecent Wrench. . But.....my o my....how things have changed.

I rebuilt my first car engine when I was 17 years old. Hung a chain and come along from a tree and pulled it out. Didn't have the $$ for a engine stand so I rolled it around on the picnic table.

Same my dad was not a car guy, I don't know a damn thing about cars. All of my HS friends were motor heads and I would stand there and watch them do whatever they were doing, I'm just not wired that way, I can't comprehend WTF their talking about.

When I was a boy.....I'd pick some old starters, generators, carbs, and such out of "the iron pile" we had behind the shop at my dad's truck and farm machinery store. I'd take them home and take em apart and try to re-assemble them.....just to see how they worked. I suppose I was 7 or 8 years old at that point. At 15 years, I had a model A ford......and those cars demanded you know how to fix stuff. I knocked out the rod bearings (babbited bearings) so that was an adventure. My 32 Ford was a complete "make over" and required a dropped front axel, chevy rear end and suspension and frame mods....new crossmembers, etc. I too was overhauling a Chevy V8 in my teens. Constantly read hot rod magazines and books on these topics......while my classmates read about school topics. Likely not too smart....lol.
