I'd like to partially reset a part of my north plot. It's going on 5 years and it's starting to get grassy. It's still probably 50% food, but it's starting to annoy me, especially because the deer still use that part the most.
Anyway, I might try spraying a grass selective so I don't lose my clover and chicory and wildflowers. I don't dare till or spray glyphosate this year. If it doesn't rain, which it doesn't seem like it ever will, I would have zero.

I think clover, alfalfa, chicory are all important for body health, fawns , etc..
Many years ago I worked part time for Biologic and they stressed that it made a huge difference. I’m circling back to this strategy with lots of clover, chicory, alfalfa, rye for plots !

I scored a hair over two inches the past week. I wasn't expecting to get two inches between winter and Labor day. It was much needed. Hope to see the ponds up a little as they have some watershed to pull in what doesn't soak in. It was enough to get my barley to pop open finally, and it doesn't seem like the turkeys ever found it.
Haven't seen many turkeys this spring. Usually, I've got a group of around 20 working my place all throughout the growing season.

Still a few (too many) hens around. We had about the same, 2 inches of rain.
