Another catch & release turkey hunt for me Wed am. I like to educate them a bit before hunting them for real. Tom comes in around 4:35 I think

My son shot at a bird Sat morning. Yellow dot is where Matts arrow hit. red dot is where my sons arrow went. Nothing but feathers. I showed him this vid and he said his bird was the exact same posture and angle at him when he shot. So very good instructional vid too!!!

Mark - I didn't get that bird. Just feathers and 10 drops of blood hence the "catch & release" title of the thread. He was gobbling 20 min after the shot. Hard to believe after watching the video, but I was too far back. I was shooting right of the camera so he was quartering harder than it looks. I followed the legs up and center punched him in the heat of the moment not realizing he was quartered that hard. Should've been aiming 3-4" to the right. I think with the angle, my arrow glanced off the breast plate without entering the cavity. I'm hoping for revenge so I can find out exactly.

OHHHH. I was wondering where you were sitting in relation to the camera. Man, I watched the vid again. Where in the world did the arrow go through the body if it didnt kill him. Thats pretty amazing. How it missed spine is really a head scratcher.
