I was listening to an episode of Wired to Hunt about food plot screening and the guest was talking about Jerusalem Artichoke, commonly called Sunchoke. It grows thick, 6-10 ft tall, looks somewhat like a sunflower and like a typical artichoke it has an edible tuber. Sounds like it grows in a variety of hardiness zones and is somewhat a perennial planting as the tubers will resprout if not harvested. I looked it up online as it sounded somewhat appealing, but found a few articles warning about how it can be a bit of an invasive species as the the regrowth is aggressive over time.
Anyone use it or heard of it?

I believe they are similar to Maximilian, Giant, and/or Sawtooth sunflower. I've got some of those (I think they're Sawtooth but I'm not 100% sure) growing here. They do get tall and thick. No idea how they'd work as a screen, I'd imagine they would do "ok" for early bow maybe
